Burton & the Brewery

Todays the day that we put ourselves in the hands of Trish as she intends to take us on a Brewery Tour in Burton and then onwards to Raj & Helens for dinner. Trish has always had a bit of a rep for getting lost so we were rather shocked that we got to the Brewery without incident. I was expecting a tour of a working Brewery with the smell and everything else that goes along with a manufacturing plant, but instead it was a very informative tour of 1 1/2 on the history of brewing and it's connection to the town

the Brewery still has 3 working Shire horses that they use for promotional purposes and jacqui got the chance to get up front and personal with Billy. You don't realise how big these horses are until standing next to them.

after having a freebie at the Bar we headed off to find some fanct marina shopping centre for people with loads of dosh. unfortunately the curse of Trish returned but not only in the wrong road but also a one way road and we were in the wrong direction. with toots and flashing of lights Trish got us turned around and on we headed to our destination. 

The Burton Marina is a pretty flash development and is the home of loads of Canel boats moored up. after a look around and a cuppa we head on our way to catch up with Raj & Helen and the girls for dinner. its always great to catch up with these guys and a late afternoon / evening visit was good times for all. sadly we also had to say our farewells as we head off to Launton in the morning.
