onto Launton

with farewells done and waving Trish off to work, we venture forward on our tour to the village of Launton and old friend Teni and the Whanau. to get there we plotted our course to stay out of cities and ring roads the best we could. our first port of call was the town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch as we headed in to town we spotted a sign for a castle and thought we may as well have a looksy, unfortunately it was made quite difficult to get to and it was a ruin so we settles on a walk through the town and a bit of shopping, our next stop was Banbury, once again a stop and nosey around and lunch. it has an interesting mix of old and modern and a rather large shopping mall that just didn't seem to fit quite right, i guess the planners knew what they wanted. our destination was next.
A couple of shots from Banbury
it doesn't seem to matter where we are at the moment there is building maintenance going on, which is great to see but not for photography.
anyone interesting in leasing this building, we saw a few in Banbury with signs up, can only imagine that the shopping malls are making it tough on the little shops

Now I'm not saying I'm slightly envious of Teni's local but come on, this is one stunning little pub. we had to stop for a tipple while we waited for Teni. built in 1600 its always been a Pub.
Now we hope Teni can actually put the other photos taken up on facebook. We head to Bath tomorrow, really looking for to our visit. Thanks Teni and Whanau it was a great night catching up.
