Pooh Sticks & Tarts

Today we say our goodbyes to Karen & Andrew and head off down country to Bakewell. I have always liked a bakewell tart so on our journey we will doing the challenge of Tart v Pudding. so things are great until the first roundabout Yep wrong lane and a 5 minute detour to get back to where we started, i would love to say it was a cruisey trip and it would of been if not for the manchester circular road where they just happen to have signage down for maintenance, again a slightly longer detour and we head off through the peak district, what a lovely drive that is, going through some lovely olde villages we eventually got to Ashford in the Water, our other challenge was Pooh Sticks for the Grandkiddies and apparently the beautiful old bridge has the honour  (so they say ) of being where pooh sticks started.

Jacqui duly did the honours of throwing the kids in. and the Winner was for the first time ever a 4 way draw, fair to say the winner on the day was 4 sticks.
onwards to Bakewell for a slleepy little market town Yeah Right. what a buzzy little place this is with traffic jams everywhere
to be fair it is a beautiful little town, very vibrant very busy. we had a good look around the middle of town that was a 5 minute walk to our Pub / hotel. got a lot of photo's to process at a later date. finished the day quietly and collapsed in bed by 9pm. tomorrow we head to Trish's on the back roads to find a villages. O and the winner of the Tart v Pudding, well it was only ever going to be the Tart.
